I know many people in the Black Watch, its a famous regiment. How many more are going to die before Christmas when "alledgably" we will get pulled out.

Without the congress, he wouldn't have been able to wage war for this amount of time. Again, are you going to back up the charges you've leveled against Bush Jr. and Sr. or just expect us to accept them as the truth? If so, under what authority do you make them that we should believe you?

Just thought I'd throw in a couple of facts I read in todays news.

Yesterday saw the third day in a row that the Black Watch have been bombarded in their new base, dubbed 'Camp Incoming'. Four rockets exploded inside the camp. No one has been hurt yet.

One British soldier was found dead in Basra, but the death is not thought to be suspicious. He is the 70th Brit to die in Iraq since the invasion.

Now my six cents. I don't quite understand the outrage at a soldier getting shot. Surely you don't join the Army to sit behind a desk all day. At least the squaddies have guns to shoot back.

70 Brits have died since the invasion. I'm sure more people have lost their lives through gun crime in Britain's inner cities over the same timeframe. Not that I'm saying Iraq is a safer place to be, but when you join the army, you know what you're letting yourself in for. If you are sent to war, that's the job you've chosen, whether you agree with the politics behind it or not.

It's unfortunate soldiers die, but it happens. One of my pals has just safely returned from his tour in Basra. If anything had happened to him, at least he'd have gone out doing what he loved, serving Queen and country.

Agreed, Stacey. The crazy thing here is that we have college students who join the guards to get paid while in school. Then, they're shocked and aghast that they're called to serve in a combat unit. What were they expecting when they signed up? That they were going to get paid for nothing?
